Job Title: Retail Sales Associates/Fine Jewelry Sales Specialist, Fine Watch Sales Specialist, Fragrance/ Cosmetic Consultant (Beauty Specialist) 免稅店專員
Reports To: Boutiques Assistant Manager/Boutiques Manager.
Position Grade: 1.5 Stripes
Department: The Gift Shop (Retail Sales) Department
Manger's Title: Gift Shops/ Retail Sales Manager
Monthly Salary Range: USD$1,000~1,200  + commission
(Accurate Salary will be noted once the candidate officially hired)

The gift shop personnel are responsible for the running of the on board shops, which generally consist of a boutique, a cosmetic and fragrance counter, and a souvenir and gift shop
. The job requires a high level of customer interaction, meaning sales should have good customer facing and communication skills.
 
Responsibilities and Duties include (but are not limited to)
  • Always follows the 5 rules of 1st Class Service.
  • Learns to sell by satisfying customer needs.
  • Mainly sells duty free items onboard ranging from souvenir items, foodstuffs, apparels, jewelry, watches, perfumes etc.
  • Ensures high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service.
  • Maintains outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards.
  • Ensures that all merchandise is displayed nicely and orderly and featured merchandise prominently displayed in each section.
  • Checks stock daily to ensure that all products are adequately stocked and available for customers.
  • Understands the Travel Retail Philosophy and the compliance of the return policy.
  • Contributes to sales and marketing plans
  • Ascertains customers’ needs and wants
  • Provides a complete shopping experience for our customers, involving product knowledge and excellent service.
  • Recommends and displays items that match customer needs
  • Keeps up to date with product information
  • Accurately describes product features and benefits
  • Provides excellent customer service at all times
  • Greets customers who enter the shop.
  • Be involved in stock control and management.
  • Assists shoppers to find the goods and products they are looking for.
  • Be responsible for processing cash and card payments.
  • Answers queries from customers with patience and profession.
  • Gives accurate and current information and if the correct information is not at hand, does everything possible to provide an answer before the customer leaves the stop.
  • Gives advice and guidance on product selection to customers.
  • Reports discrepancies and problems to the supervisor in timely manners
  • Operates the cash register, and be consistently accurate in money handling.
  • Balances cash registers with receipts.
  • Deals with customer complaints, refunds and issues and follows all companies policies and procedures
  • Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management.
  • Keeps the store tidy and clean, this includes hovering and mopping.
  • Be responsible dealing with customer complaints.
  • Helps the Stop manager by suggesting alternative locations for products
  • Complies with established guidelines, particularly with brands.
  • Knows the procedures for processing paperwork between the shop and other departments
  • Attaches price tags to merchandise on the shop floor.
  • Be Responsible for security within the store and looks out for shoplifters and fraudulent credit cards etc.
  • Receives and stores the delivery of large amounts of stock
  • Keeps up to date with special promotions and putting up displays.
 
Qualifications
  • Experience
    • At least 2 years previous experience in retail and customer service in a hospitality related environment preferred.
    • Proven working experience in retail sales
    • Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
  • Education level:Bachelor’s Degree or higher is preferred
  • Specific skills & Knowledge
    • The comprehensive understanding of sales i.e. retail, Fast Moving Consumer Goods, sports equipment etc
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers and colleagues
    • Ability to set and accomplish goals in a team atmosphere
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
    • Instinctive belief that customer service is job number one
    • Ability to work well in a multicultural environment

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs

  • Language

    • Excellent verbal and written command of the English language
    • Ability to speak additional languages such as Chinese, Spanish, French, German, Italian or Portuguese preferred.
    • Must be about to speak English plus at least one of the following languages to a conversational/business level (Chinese, French, German, Spanish, Italian or Portuguese)
