Monthly Salary Range: USD$1,800~2,000

Job Overview:
The Sports Staff are responsible for ensuring that all guests get the opportunity to take part in some of the most thrilling recreational activities on the high seas. He or She will be part of an energetic and dynamic team who facilitate active sports sessions, oversee the operation of outdoor recreational activities as well as engage guests in fun and dynamic themed parties.

Responsibilities and Duties include (but are not limited to)
  • Promotes and serves as Master of Ceremonies in Sports Deck activities, and Vitality programs.
  • Explains and demonstrates use of apparatus and equipment for: climbing wall, in-line skating, golf simulator, Flowrider and any other related activities.
  • Leads Vitality classes and events.
  • Organizes and conducts tournaments.
  • Serves or participates as master of ceremonies.

  • Experience
    • One year physical fitness and/or recreational sports instruction background with resorts, sports facilities or related recreational facilities required.
    • Experience in the operation and maintenance of the Flowrider or other similar water park equipment
    • Master of Ceremonies experience or some childcare experience preferred
    • Ability to coordinate and instruct recreational sports and activities for large groups and individuals
    • Ability to provide one-on-one rock climbing wall instruction
  • Education level
    • Certification and continuing education currency preferred in one of the following: American Council in Exercise (ACE), American Aerobic & Fitness Association (AAFA), American College in Sports Medicine (ACSM) or Sports/Fitness/Health Education degree from a college or university preferred
    • Sports/Fitness/Health Education Degree or Diploma preferred
  • Specific skills & Knowledge
    • Ability to coordinate and instruct recreational sports and activities for large groups and/or individual sessions
    • Knowledge of the rules of basketball, volleyball, golf, ping-pong, shuffle board, etc.
  • Language
    • Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with guests
    • Ability to communicate in English to understand, interpret written procedures, give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, supervisors and co-workers
    • Excellent verbal and written command of the English language, knowledge of another language(s) is a plus

  • Physical abilities
    • Must meet all physical requirements, including the ability to participate in emergency life-saving drills and required training.

  • Certifications & Licenses
    • CPR certification and life saving certification from the American Red Cross or similar certifying organization preferred
    • Rock climbing (manual belay) certification preferred
