Job Overview:
青年活動部經理是郵輪青年活動嬰兒照顧(保姆)專員的啦啦隊隊長,凝聚團隊核心,創造舒服快樂的工作氛圍,協助專員策劃活動,訓練新進專員,規劃專員上班班表,處理專員無法解決的客戶抱怨,負責青年活動部的盈利虧損,監督工作環境符合規範,並向郵輪活動主管Cruise Director & Assistant Cruise Director報告等。

The Youth Director is responsible for the overall supervision and operation of all Youth Programming Departments. He/She will supervise all team members of Youth Program. The Youth Director reports directly to the Hotel Director on board. The Youth Director is responsible for motivating the Youth Staff in providing the most FUN and memorable vacation to our youngest guests.
Responsibilities and Duties include (but are not limited to)
  • Ensures friendly, jovial and positive attitude with all children, parents, staff and management at all times.
  • Brings enthusiasm and care to the program when running activities and working with the minor guests.
  • Ensures the safety and supervision of all children participating in activities.
  • Creates and implement youth activity schedules as per mandates including the use of lounges, food order and anything necessary for the program – communicating with other departments on board.
  • Conducts and evaluates all Youth Staff upon them joining a vessel, including 3 month training program for all new hires, including performance appraisals for all staff.
  • Ensures implementation of Policies and Procedures set forth in the Hotel Operations-Youth Manual and follows all youth mandates, including theme days, activity buckets.
  • Maintains and controls usage of Youth supplies and ensures property is kept in good order and inventories are kept up to date
  • Submits any work orders that needs to be repaired for the youth facilities.
  • Ensure the Night Owls program is being run as per mandates.
  • Familiar with all activities outlined in the Youth Activity Schedules, Partnerships & Family Activities
  • Updates CPS (Crew Personnel System) for Youth Staff as needed.
  • Navigates and monitors system in regards to Youth and partnership programs.
  • Be responsible for all USPH, Environmental & HESS/MS procedures pertaining to Youth Programs including responsibilities for all managers (ie. Exemptions, drills, searches, etc.).
  • Participates in and/or lead Youth Department Team Building activities.
  • Conducts a staff meeting each voyage with all Youth Staff.
  • Keeps tracking files up to date and sends shore side annually.
  • Posts all necessary documents and voyage information in Public Folders.
  • Acknowledges Youth Program procedures and ensures compliance for Youth Programs.
  • Complies with company policy on work and rest hours and scheduled accordingly for the Youth Staff each voyage.
  • As part of your safety responsibility, your Position/Rank has been identified as a *Trainer* within the Training, Drill and Assessment program – conduct trainings with assigned personnel.
  • Submits Safety Observations weekly and ensures Safety Representative follows protocols.
  • Conducts all trainings for the new Youth Staff and provides an evaluation at the end of each of Youth Staff contract.
  • Being abiding with rules and regulations set forth by company and/or ship’s command.
  • Demonstrates commitment to the Cruise Lines’ Service Values.
  • Provides excellent hospitality to all guests.
  • Ensures uniform policy and good hygiene is being followed at all times by all Youth Staff.
  • Supervises and schedules the waterslide operations and ensures all safety rules and regulations are being followed by all youth staff
  • Ensures the Animator/Characters are filled by the Youth Staff to ensure coverage for all events.
  • All other duties deemed necessary by Shoreside Management.
 
Qualifications
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 5 years of experience working with children, preferably in a camp or other activity-based setting
    • Minimum 2 years of experience managing a youth/camp program and leading team of people
    • Working knowledge of computers, internet access and the ability to navigate within a variety of software packages such as Excel, Word and Power Point.
    • Diploma of Child & Youth Worker, Early Childhood Education or Educational Assistant preferred
  • Education level:
    • Bachelor's degree in education, recreation or related field from an accredited university or college or the international equivalent
    • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Education/Recreation/Park/Tourism preferred
  • Specific Skills & Knowledge:
    • Knowledge of Fun Time procedures
    • Knowledgeable of youth budgets and targets
    • Ability to mediate, diffuse and/or resolve problems and negotiate resolutions
    • Ability to design creative activities while containing costs
    • Being professional, polished and guest service oriented
    • Hospitality skills
  • Language:
    • Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with guests
    • Ability to communicate in English to understand, interpret written procedures, give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, supervisors and co-workers
    • Excellent verbal and written command of the English language, knowledge of another language(s) is a plus
  • Personal characteristics:
    • Willing to work with children from ages 2 to 11 years old and children with special needs as well as children under the age of 2 years.
    •  An outgoing leader of large groups of children
  • Physical abilities:
    • Must meet all physical requirements, including the ability to participate in emergency life-saving drills and required training.
    • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Certifications & Licenses:
    • Infant and child CPR certification and life saving certification from the American Red Cross or similar certifying organization.
