Job Overview:
財會副理是郵輪的管錢大掌櫃的助手,經手郵輪客服部櫃檯的所有金流,包含信用卡註冊、換匯換錢、客戶帳戶相關事務、每晚結帳等,向財會經理匯報,必要時協助客服部門其他事務。
The assistant to the Financial Accountant, this position performs all duties as directed by the Financial Accountant and Chief Financial Accountant. In order to consistently exceed guest expectations and provide the highest levels of product and services, additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities and Duties include (but are not limited to)
  • Manages the Onboard Credit Desk during service hours and at embarkation, as required.
  • Collects guest credit card registrations and handle changes in credit cards and/or method of payment.
  • Accepts, verifies and records guest cash deposits, where applicable.
  • Batches postings to guest accounts (i.e. Service Charges, miscellaneous revenue postings) as directed.
  • Performs nightly close day procedures in all systems after balancing on a daily basis.
  • Operates credit card processing, including obtaining manual authorizations.
  • Updates Daily Revenue Summary and distributes to applicable ship management and/or shoreside operations.
  • Monitors guest accounts with cash deposits and declined credit card authorizations, (closing accounts with no method of payment).
  • Performs verification of system account checks and transfer of balances as per company policies.
  • Audits all promotional charges, ensuring compliance to company policy.
  • Balances all revenue areas on a daily/nightly basis.
  • Reports generation, back up and reset of the POS on a nightly basis.
  • Performs manning of Foreign Exchange desk and operation of Foreign Exchange system on appropriate vessels.
  • Does daily balancing of Foreign Exchange float.
  • Directly or indirectly manages issues regarding guest disputes, queries and statement copies.
  • Prepares system account checks for ship’s management approval.
  • Ensures appropriate signature/approval received for all checks to be included in the voyage documentation.
  • Supports the processing of all guest account transactions, for a large passenger vessel that can include from 2,000 to 3,000 guests.
  • Must be able to work effectively as a member of the onboard financial accounting department, as well as, independently.
  • Performs other department-related duties as assigned or as directed.
  • Reports to the Financial Accountant as supervisor and the Chief Financial Accountant as Department Head.
  • Performs all required duties in a timely fashion with high level of accuracy.
  • Implements and adhere to company policies and procedures (both onboard and Financial) and maintains a comprehensive knowledge of all.
  • Provides helpful assistance to the guests and crew within the bounds of the position and is personally accommodating. 
  • Completes the omission of specific duties which does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
  • Must be familiar with the Safety and Environmental Protection Policy and the SEMS, and carry out the policies and procedures appropriate for his/her position.

Qualifications
  • Experience
    • Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience in accounting preferred
  • Education level
    • Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting (or other certification).
    • Relevant shipboard experience and a minimum of 3 – 5 years of accounting experience may substitute for the educational requirements at an equivalent rate.
  • Specific skills & Knowledge
    • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Fidelio is strongly preferred
    • Strong mathematical and analytical abilities
    • Ability to work and interact with personnel on all levels
  • Language
    • Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with guests
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English language
    • Ability to communicate in English to understand, interpret written procedures, give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, supervisors and co-workers
    • Ability to speak additional languages such as Chinese, Spanish, French, German, Italian or Portuguese preferred.
    •  Must be about to speak English plus at least one of the following languages to a conversational/business level (Chinese, French, German, Spanish, Italian or Portuguese)

  • Physical abilities
    • While performing the essential functions of this job, all team members are required to stand; walk long distances on the ship; use hands to touch, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk, hear, taste and smell. All vessel positions require repetitive motion of bending, climbing, going up and down stairs and lifting more than 25 pounds. This job requires specific vision abilities to include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
    • All team members must be physically able to participate in emergency lifesaving procedures and drills. All vessel positions require full use and range of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency including the lowering of lifeboats.
    • Work within different temperature changes—indoors to outdoors.
    • Able to pass basic safety course.
